Delicious Sausage Wonton Cups

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork breakfast sausage
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • Pinch ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 1/4 c shredded sharp cheddar cheese or shredded pepper jack cheese divided
  • 1/2 c cream cheese
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • Optional garnish: green onions or parsley
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cook Sausage: In a medium skillet, cook the pork sausage. With ground cumin and cayenne pepper over medium heat. Until the sausage is browned. And cooked through. Breaking it apart as it cooks.
  3. Add Cheese: Stir in the cream cheese and 1 cup of shredded cheese. Until melted and well combined.
  4. Prepare Wonton Cups: Lightly spray a mini muffin tin. With cooking spray. Gently press the wonton wrappers into the muffin cups. Forming small cups. Spray the cups lightly. With cooking spray.
  5. Fill Cups: Evenly divide the sausage mixture among the wonton cups. Top each with the remaining 1/4 cup of shredded cheese.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes. Or until the wonton wrappers are golden brown. And crispy.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven. Garnish with thinly sliced green onions. Or chopped parsley, if desired. Serve hot. And enjoy!
