I freaking love this Honey Bun Cake! These are cinnamon rolls in a cake form that is incredibly easy to whip up using only a few simple ingredients and ready in under forty minutes.
I am crazy over the taste of cinnamon rolls. I have my favourite cinnamon rolls recipe, but this cake recipe changed the game! This is made out of a package cake mix combined with pantry essentials. Glazed and serve with a cup of coffee for breakfast or snack, even dessert.
This cake is perfectly sweet. It is a wonderful cake that is so simple to make and surely will become your new favourite dessert!
Ingredients
4 large eggs
1 (15.25-oz.) package yellow cake mix
3/4 c. vegetable oil
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 c. sour cream
2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 c. milk
How to make Honey Bun Cake
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 325 degrees. Using cooking spray, grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
Step 2: Place the cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and sour cream in a large bowl. Mix well until smooth.
Step 3: Into the prepared pan, pour half of the cake batter and smooth it out.
Step 4: In a bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon. Then, evenly sprinkle this over the cake batter.
Step 5: Pour the rest of the cake batter on top and evenly spread it out. In a swirling pattern, run a knife through the cake batter.
Step 6: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 to 35 minutes.
Step 7: In the meantime, add the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a medium bowl. Mix well until combined. Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and pour this on top. Allow the cake to cool for at least 20 minutes, then slice. Enjoy!
