What a dish! This recipe of meatloaf is my favourite! I usually serve this with garlic mashed potatoes or just plain bread. Make a sandwich out of this meatloaf. It’s the best! I’ll just let the photo of this dish salivate you! Lunch or dinner will be amazing again. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped small
1/2 cup of whole milk
1/2 cup mushrooms chopped (optional) family loves them I hate them
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup bread crumbs (regular, Italian style or panko)
1 large egg
1/2 tsp salt & 1 tsp pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp Adobo seasoning
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
8 thick slices of mozzarella OR provolone cheese
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 3: Drizzle oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 4: Add the onion and peppers. Sauté until the peppers are soft and onion is translucent.
Step 5: Remove from heat.
Step 6: In a large mixing bowl, add all the ingredients including the cooked onion and peppers aside from the cheese.
Step 7: Mix using your hands until well combined.
Step 8: Apply cooking spray or butter in a loaf pan.
Step 9: Place 1/2 of the meatloaf mixture on the bottom of the prepared pan.
Step 10: Place 4 slices of the cheese on top.
Step 11: Layer the rest of the meatloaf mixture over the cheese.
Step 12: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes.
Step 13: Remove from the oven and place the remaining 4 slices of cheese and sprinkle parsley.
Step 14: Put it back inside the oven and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes or until the cheese has melted completely.
Step 15: Turn off the oven and let the pan sit in the oven for 3 to 5 minutes.
Step 16: Remove from the oven and the pan.
Step 17: Serve and enjoy!
